Frequently Asked Questions

"When a moment in front of me appears to be particularly special, whether it be by beauty or experience, I capture it. I usually find a reason to justify taking that photo - symmetry, or color or contrast - and it's my hope that my photography sheds light onto what I see and do on a daily basis."

These are the most commonly asked questions I receive from potential wedding clients.

You are based in South Dakota, do you travel elsewhere?

Yes, I am based in the Black Hills. I travel all over the United States photographing weddings and I don't charge travel fees

How would you describe your style?

I have a page designated specifically to this if you would like more info, my style. I want to observe and capture your day as it unfolds. At the core of everything I always want to be able to tell a story. Whether that is through one image or a body of work, there should always be a story. I don't want fabricated and set up photos. I aim to capture the pure and authentic.

Do you photograph in color or black & white and do you edit all of the photos?

The answers are both and yes. I shoot all digital images and every single image that you receive will be completely edited. The editing involves color correcting to my style, cropping if need be and overall bettering of the image.

I love black and white. If the photo I take does better in color and needs the color to complete the image then I will place it in color. Otherwise the image will be in black & white. Often time if the client requests every image I will give one version color and one black & white.

What if we want some posed photos?

I have no problem doing posed photos. I'm very capable and good at doing them. Whether you want the bridal party, just the bride and groom or family photos. I can do all of them. I just try not to spend an abundant amount of time photographing these type of shots.

How do we book?

That part is very simple. Just call, email or text me. I will check availability. I do require a completed and signed contract form plus a deposit to secure your wedding date. The remaining balance is due 28 days before the wedding date.

What happens after the wedding?

Once your wedding is over, the sad fact remains, you'll just have those images to look back on and remember your wonderful day. Because of the importance every image means to me and the time I put into your complete wedding package, it may take at least 4-8 weeks in turn around time. I use the very best suppliers for every portion of your wedding package.
